Namore the Sub-Mariner, daughter of Atlantean princess Len and human ship-captain Ferdinand McKenzie
Bertrand "Bertie" Dean, NYPD cop
The Human Torch, aka Jane Hammond, NYPD cop
Zina the Flaming Girl, aka Thomasina Raymond
Bucky, aka Jemima "Jemmy" Barnes (people think Bucky's a boy)
Captain America, aka Stephanie Rogers (people know Cap's a woman)
Union Jack (II), aka Jonathan "Jack" Falsworth (his sister calls him Jackie-boy)
Destroyer, aka Brianna Falsworth
Dyna-Mite, aka Rachel Aubrey

Okay, so Namore was a typo of Namora, but you know, I kinda like it? Can we keep it?

Namor is walking out of a meeting with the ambassadors of a few countries and probably an Avenger or two when a firey figure streaks across the sky towards them.
"Who is that?" someone asks, and he calmly says, "Toro."
"How can you tell?"
"They look different."
"NAMOR!" Toro yells, and his voice is full of excitement. He drops down in front of the King of Atlantis and grabs his wrists almost before his flames are gone. "I'm gonna be a father!" And his voice is full of wild elation.
Namor grips his wrists in turn, grinning at him. "Congratulations!" Because of course he knows how much this means to Toro, of course he does, he was there through the years of Toro and Ann's marriage, and knows how they were afraid if she go pregnant with Toro's child she might get burned.
Toro laughs joyously. "Do you have a few minutes to spare? I'd like to introduce you to the mother of my future child--" His grin is huge and proud. "--we were just house-hunting, it's not far."
And they fly off and Namor meets Freya.

As much as Jim wants to be there with Toro and Freya and the baby, and as much as he likes the home they are makig together, he kind of didn't want to give up his old place. It held memories, and it seems like he's always having to leave that kind of thing behind.
He solves the problem by giving the old apartment to Tara.

As the USS Lehigh approaches the distressed outpost, they have a senior staff briefing, and it's Steve who knows what phenomenon they're studying, Steve who can name several ships that have gone missing after managing to get out a report of the readings of it, and two of those were Starfleet. Phillips and Peggy take this in stride, but don't say anything about why he is so familiar with this particular research. Others can just assume he's being an efficient and well-informed second officer. It's not until later in the story, when Steve and Peggy are stranded with Thor and Sif, that it comes out that his parents were on one of those ships. Foreshadowing!

Rictor's favourite Babylon 5 character is Ivanova.
Cue crossover thoughts where Terry is visiting the station as a diva singer, Shatterstar is her bodyguard, Rictor is her assistant, and Rahne is her pilot.
I DO NOT NEED ANOTHER MARVEL/SPACE TV SHOW CROSSOVER, BRAIN.

Ugh, maybe now I can sleep.

XD Namor has such a charming way of initiating conversations with Jim.

And apparently Jim used to be CEO of a corporation Namor owned? I am picturing those board meetings. And laughing.

A while back, Melissa Uran posted a couple of Namor paperkids -- you know, chibis meant to be cut out and pinned/taped/pinched between fingers so that it looks like they're actually being dangled by the sticking point.

Well, lately she's been doing more! And different characters! (Though all Marvel.)
Doctor Strange!
Loki!
Deadpool!
Ironman, Captain America, and Deadpool! (And that Deadpool in colour!)
My favourite so far: Captain America & Deadpool, Aurora, and Northstar!

ETA: Ironman + booze now in colour!

And really, why would you need one underwater? I mean, sharks smell blood, sure, but the humanoid nose isn't really equipped, I'd think, to dealing with that kind of input.

Why do I say the mighty Sub-Mariner has no sense of smell? Is it in a comic someplace? Not that I know of. No, I'm watching Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends, and in the episode "Seven Little Superheroes", Prince Namor is duped into a superluxe tub/pool of steaming hot, constantly fountaining... alcohol. He thought it was water.

Didn't he notice the fumes?

Kiffie!

I am a fan of Melissa Uran's art. I'm also inexplicably fond of Namor.

So when Melissa draws Namor, you know I have to share.

eta: The angry chibi Namor is also awesome!

These issues come after Inferno, when the New Mutants and the X-Terminators met, and tell of how the two teams combined -- although Skids and Rusty are separated by the end of these, really, so it's more like the Muties assimilated Boom-Boom and Rictor. One of the things I liked, reading these, is that I know exactly where it fits in with the rest of the X-books, timeline-wise. Marvel really sucks at that these days.

#76 was a really fun adventure story: Namor and the kiddies fight a giant tentacled thing! )
Issues #77 and 78 are the beginning of another Asgard arc. After the kiddies take Illyana home to her family, Dani collapses. Ship analyzes her illness and concludes it to be magical in nature, so sends them to see Doctor Strange. Alas, the good Sorcerer is pretending to be dead at this time -- and has an eyepatch! -- but he watches them invisibly. It seems Dani is possessed by an evil entity, whose toxic aura is affecting the others. He observes that Boom-Boom and Rictor (or rather, "the little blonde and the dark-haired boy") are the most sensitive to it, which is kind of a no-brainer, what with the way they get into a shouting match on his doorstep and have to be physically restrained from attacking each other.

This is the bit that really caught my attention, actually. Why those two? Other than Rahne, they're the youngest -- and Rahne, being psychically connected to Dani, should have been more easily affected, right? Dani's almost a stranger to them, so what's the deal? Are they just naturally mystically sensitive? I'd really like someone to run with that for a fic, maybe an AU. There's a canonical other reality where Rahne is a queen and Boom-Boom is her loyal maidservant. There's no Rictor ever seen there -- maybe he's off being a wizard's apprentice! *plots*
