Title: Kith
Summary: Prior to M-day, a huge number of people were collecting in Westchester -- and relationships among mutants and their kin are like an enormously tangled 4D web. There were a lot of stories that could have been told, but weren't. Here is a piece of one of them.

A little something I whipped up after thinking about it for, well, since August 2007. A nice bit of body language continuity. I tip my hat to Mr. Raimondi for working that in.

Title: Negotiation
Fandom: Marvel Comics
Characters: Rictor and Boom-Boom
Prompt: I don't think that'll fit.
Word Count: 257
Rating: E for Everyone
Summary: Boom-Boom exhibits a vastly different spacial perception from Ric's own...
Author's Notes: I always like these two arguing. They're so good at it. I especially love it when Ric wins. X3

Title: Wound-up Boy
Fandom: Marvel U
Characters: Rictor, The Right, Shatterstar
Prompt: I got better.
Word Count: 806
Rating: R? Involves torture, drugs, violence, etc.
Summary: A closer look at what The Right did to Rictor, and how that affected one friendship.
Author's Notes: I swear I'm capable of writing happy fic for Rictor, really I am. This just isn't one.

Title: Provoked
Fandom: Marvel U
Characters: Rictor, Shatterstar, others
Prompt: So then he said...
Word Count: 814
Rating: PG-13
Summary: Deals with revelations about Rictor and Shatterstar, respectively, from X-Force #30 & 34. I suppose you could say it's a sort of missing scene stream of consciousness.
Author's Notes: I'm calling this pre-slash. Props to [livejournal.com profile] justlikemagic for doing a beta read.

Title: Where the Air is Clear
Summary: Lead in to the first page of X-Factor (vol. 3) #1. Rictor has a history of important milestones happening at great heights.

Title: Developing Instincts
Warnings: Swearing, some of which starts with "f" and rhymes with that thing you shoot around in hockey. ;) There's not a lot, though.
Author's Notes: Rictor is a worrywart. Shatterstar is a loose cannon. How their friendship didn't give Ric ten different kinds of nervous tic I can't fathom. Set during X-Force #29-30, between Rictor dropping Shatterstar off and picking him up again. 1st person narration by Rictor (figured I'd give a heads up on that since some people don't like it).

Cross-posted at [livejournal.com profile] ricstar, even though it's not really slash. It's probably more tentative, bewildered friendship with a mild frisson of physical attraction.

GIP - Ain't they cute? The Stingers cuddle so well.

Okay, so this isn't really a GIP. It has content unrelated to the icon. But I wanted to point the icon out.

I picked up a few back-issues of X-Force and felt like pointing out some interesting bits of dialogue, along with my snarky commentary. It's under the cut, because while these haven't been spoilers since 1994, those of you who don't care can skip this faster if it's a short li'l post on your flist, right? Right.

ExpandAnd I know that not only don't some of you care, one person on my flist was present when I bought these and called me a loser for it. :3 )
