Nothing like waking up to the news that your shift doesn't start until an hour after you thought it did, so you can go back to bed.

Which I did.

This, of course, lead to some wonky dreams. Now, I can't say I remember all the details. I know I apparently took a bus to visit [livejournal.com profile] cats_n_crying, except for some reason he lived in the small town where previously I had dreamed [livejournal.com profile] crazedbluejay lived, which features, among other things, a "lake" (more like a pond) in which there is a half-sunken steamboat on which lives a vampire. This time the vampire did not have a party. Nor did I actually get to see Heffie - he couldn't meet me, because something had happened to his Mom, so I ended up travelling home with these scientists. Can't remember much more that labcoats. Agatha Heterodyne might have been there, there was a blonde woman with big glasses and I've been reading a lot of Girl Genius.

Something something ...I ended up back in town, and actually in the apartment building I used to live in, except while that was definitely the location, the interiour was more like a mishmash of the museum, the place where [livejournal.com profile] taichara works, Granville Mall, and the Rice residence on campus. There was soemthing about sausages mentioned at this point, but I don't know what. [livejournal.com profile] teriyakibroth was there, but short, male, with curly blond hair, and afflicted with a drunken anime dad and an evil sorceror brother who filled the room with beans, which is nothing like her or her dad and brother. Okay, maybe a little bit her brother.

Also, [livejournal.com profile] miss_shannon was there, with a notebook withwhich she was trying to work out some wedding budgetting, and a bunch of us plus some very football-player-esque guys piled into the elevator, and when we got out it was the bus stop. Thank god; if it had turned into another dream about dark apartments from which emerge axe-wielding angels, I don't think I could have coped. There was some very confused conversation as we waited for the bus, and I had to fetch my house keys out of a tree. Then a ringing noise started, and I thought it was the fryer beeping because the sausages were done, so I started looking for it. But I couldn't find it. Everyone at the bus stop was checking cell phones and other gadgets, and I picked up my cell phone, hoping maybe it was Heffie calling to update me about his Mom and/or his play, but all I got was static.

Around this point I figured out that in fact it was my real phone ringing and I was asleep and should get up and go get that. After the phone conversation (yay Exalted!) I went back to my room to discover that my new glasses had apparently spent the night in the vicinity of my pillow. So, I bent them back into shape. Oopsie.

I've already made my lunch for work, now I need to get some breakfast into me and get changed and, you know, go to work.

I don't think I've ever read such an awesome sentence. (Well, half-sentence.)

He has a zombie butler! And he's a real dancing fiend. I spent half of my first dream-encounter with him trying to figure out how the heck he could fit a dancefloor on his little steam boat. Then he tried to eat Jay, and we ended up flashfreezing the "lake" to escape, only to discover there were now ice ghosts... So we pulled the boat ashore, I think.

O.o Why do my dreams maintain continuity? It's confusing.

Wait, I have a zombie butler? Or does the vampire? And is the butler Bub?

In either case, may I use this half-sunken steamboat vampire for an adventure of Bub and Johnny? It's such a beautiful image.

The vampire has a zombie butler, and he's much shorter than Bub. Less hair, too, poor thing. (In fact, he looks a bit like my co-worker Larry, only more hunched and less smelly.)

You may! :D Indeed you may. I suspect the imagery was mutated from a Beligian cartoon I watched as a child whose name I can't recall and no one from an English-speaking province seems to remember...

Have you ever read Yami no Matsuei? Because the butler was a bit like the Count's zombie gardener, only taller and creepier.

Cleary, you dreamt about my stepfather's farm in the mountains, where he does indeed have a large pond which his family has called the lake for generations.

...Are you putting on a play there? Can I come see?

This is going to be one of those things where I very vaguely dream something and then it happens, isn't it? O.o
