This is Bobby Drake, as seen in the animated series X-Men: Evolution.
When I went to my Friendly Local Comic Book Store the other day, I skimmed the new books out for this Skrull invasion thingy.
Not really impressed, here.
Lately, every time Marvel does something that makes me really unhappy with what they're doing with the mutants, my mind flees to the animated versions. I loved the 90s animated series when it was on. I have discovered that Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends is kinda terrible but addictive and hysterically funny to watch. And right now, (not for the first time) I am really really wanting to watch X-Men: Evolution. Sure, it's an AU -- it admits to being an AU. But it's an AU with it's own continuity, that seems to stick with that continuity pretty good, sets up plots in advance, and seems to have some pretty decent characterization.
And I keep getting fic ideas for it. (See previous post.) I generally like to have actually seen more than fanvids and clips on YouTube (and really kickin' fanart by
croaky) to really write for a show, I have to admit.
So I may be trying to track this show down soon.

Date: 2008-04-06 06:21 pm (UTC)I finally got to see the fourth season, and Evo had so much continuity for a cartoon, it's quite amazing.

Well, like I said, I need to see the show. Possibly I will delude myself into believing he's only acting like a ditz... but then again, I do adore the Spider-Friends, and they really aren't a bright as they should be. So... cheesy...
I finally got to see the fourth season
I had heard that wasn't released on DVD, but I wasn't sure how up-to-date that information was.
