This was a clever way to get me to listen to RENT, I must admit. I don't know if the fic is going to get written -- and I refuse to draw any more parallels between Mimi and Rictor, thank you very much. B|

*headwall headwall headwall* ...No. Stop it. I don't care how good the duets are.

Stick to the cell phone idea.

Might be love,
Eliyes

P.S. You're going to have to have a better hook than that if you want a 'X-Force Watches Hair' story out of me. B|

I Got Life!

XD

Y'know, I kinda wondered if you'd notice this little entry. Up until very recently, my only exposure to Hair was you. Seriously. Mainly lyrics in art. Then I watched a clip of Scott Hamilton skating to the song Hair and it was a good song (and a good skate routine! With a wig, since he is bald. :D) so yesterday I got around to looking up some clips online.

Now I must see the movie. I must! And I finally get your icon! :D

...But my brain keeps cracking jokes at me about this one superhero team. At one point they had: a guy with hair past his ass, a guy and a girl each with hair to midback, a guy with hait past his shoulders, and two guys and one girl with short but really curly hair. So now I keep wanting to have them all watch the movie, maybe go to a screening so people can boggle at them. Lots of bad puns ensue.

Fear the fangirl! *laughs* Unfortunately I can't help you on the movie front, but I have both the Movie and the Broadway Original Soundtrack if you haven't already. ♥

xD

I have no soundtracks at all, yet! I've just been rewatching my favourite of the clips available on YouTube.

I did watch the end, even though I was warned not to do so before watching the actual movie.

Aah! Well, feel free to leech them off here (http://student.gamemaker.nu/~jenlun050/music/) if you want. The Broadway Cast Recording differs a bit from the Movie Soundtrack. The movie re-arranged a few things to story-wise make it fit better on screen but is generally thought to have managed to keep the feel and direction of the musical. Personally i think it is like two different version of same musical: both damn great in their own ways. "Same but different", if you know what i mean. Musically the movie OST is much more ambient and powerful, meanwhile the Original Broadway Recording is a bit more harsh and straight-forward and includes a few songs that the movie couldn't fit. I duly recommend watching the movie anyways, of course. It's a powerful bit of movie musical, NO doubt about it. ♥

Oooh! *leeches*

I think that's the case with many musicals made into movies. I'm a big fan of RENT, and they dropped certain songs for the movie but the movie is still good! Same goes for Rocky Horror Show vs. Rocky Horror Picture Show: there's a song in the stage version that they dropped from the movie, which basically gives us a big highlight of Brad's characterization -- but his character isn't really all that interesting, even with it, so it wasn't a huge loss.

I have Hair stuck in my head now, though. I really don't need to teach the parrot at work to sing "Black Boys".

You're MOST welcome. I am most delighted to share HAIR with others when i can. HAIR is my all-time happy-music without second thought. I've listened to it back and forth since I was 11-12yrs and even though a lot of it is quite sad and not exactly yayhappyhappy stuff, I have listened to it so much that to me, it is. ^^;d

I understand! There's some pretty woeful music I adore just because I associate it with good times from my childhood. I have now listened to both soundtracks through from beginning to end! :D

I did! :D It's taking a lot of willpower to occasionally switch off to other things so that I don't drive my roommate nuts repeating it over and over. ^.~

Wow. That'd be awesome to crossover with Avenue Q...

Everyone in my head does musicals. JLI do Rocky Horror is well established in my brain, for example.
