I never read the book, but my dad did, so today we watched the movie. Unexpectedly good. I haven't always or even liked Tom Hanks' more serious roles, but he did a good job in this one.

It was actually the neon-fluffy emphasis on the Sacré Feminin that had me rolling my eyes, but I admit I love the scene where the two scholars are arguing and the layperson is like "stop! one of you just tell me!" They got totally side-tracked by their pet academic theories for a few minutes. It was realistic.
