Have you ever repaired a young child's favourite toy, working quick and careful while the kid sits or stands beside you, watching your hands and the toy with worried eyes, sometimes craning for a better look, all can you fix it and is it ready yet?

I have, and I did it again just now.

Except this time, the "child" was Soci. X3

But...It's quite horrible when you don't know if someone can fix it, and you have to put all your trust in them and the God of Shiny Things. :(

(I should know, I have a headless Titan on my desk!)

Well, hey, it was his second version of this toy, the first one was irreparable, so I can see whyhe was worried.

(I can't fix Roy with needle and thread! D: *writes fic where Lian is alive as recompense?*)

Indeed. That's an excellent reason!

(I'm thinking I may just glue his head on. I will ALWAYS take Lian fic. And will someday feed my own bunny where a teenage Lian very intelligently waits until Roy is on the other side of the planet before she tells him she has her first date. ^^; )

Plus, I think he thought sewing = playing, but he also knows Ely manipulating small metal things = beating if interrupt, so...

(At least he's not a Barbie with the plastic swivel bobbin cracked? I had so many Barbies with their heads attached by metal screws by the time I'd had them just a little while, seriously...

And yes, Lian would do something like that. XD This that I'm working on has her in a smaller role than I'd initially envisioned, and is mostly about Billi Harper. But. Lian is there. I'm gonna have to write them meeting...)

Ah, so you're just giving your poor kitty a crisis. :D

(It...seems like his spine snapped, quite frankly. I'm not about to take the rest of him apart to see what his insides look like, but something went very weird.

I do try to believe the characters in my fics would actually do what I have them doing. Less risk for seeming stupid, that way. :D And, hey, as long Lian is somewhere I'm happy. Never forgive forget! )

Well, it's all in the past now, so more "gave"...

(Oh dear.

Even if the place she is is the Kingdom Come world? The crossover where she and Mari or Mar'i or whatever -- you know who I mean! -- got to see the then-main DCU's versions of Roy and Dick being dorky argumentative heroic friends was weirdly fun in places.)

Still not very nice. :p

(Yeah. Poor guy.

Hey, at least she wasn't the victim of a Very Bad Plot Device in Kingdom Come? I mean, the world was screwed up but at least nuclear bombs were involved instead of an undamaged house falling on her head! And if the crossover with her and Mar'i that you speak of was when DC was the mini-arc with Donna I haven't actually managed to read them yet. ^^; )

I fixed the toy instead of throwing it out! How is that not nice?

(Mnr. I have... scans of random pages, mainly. There was a thing in The Kingdom with that group of Titans that included them and also Donna's not!evil!son! and Li'l Barda, and eventually there was some kind of crossover. That's all I know. XD)

You should have been able to magically fix it with a wave of your finger. Save the poor kitty all that emotional trauma of waiting. :)

(Hmm...yeah, I think that was part of Titans run, about when Donna became Troia. Maybe. ^^;)

(No, can't be, Donna became Troia in 1989, in The New Titans #55, and Kingdom Come (and it's associated characters) was first published in 1996.

*pokes around the internets, searching...* Ah, I see. The showed up in Titans #23-25 (2000-2001), the "Who is Troia?" trilogy. That must be what you meant?)

(Yup! I knew it had something to do with Troia! ^^;

It's...been a long weekend. In a good way, but long.)
