OMGOMGOMG, I really wish I had cable and/or lived in North America right now. HOW LONG WILL IT BE BEFORE I SEE THOSE EPS??!?!?!?!?!...MAYBE I WILL JUST CONVENIENTLY BE VISITING MY PARENTS ON THE UK PREMIERE DATES, I DON'T KNOW. MAYBE. OR SOMETHING.

...also...is the ex-partner that annoying Dr from ER that I don't really know all that well because I had given up on ER by that point, even though Goran Visnjic came back around tht time too?

SO I SAW THIS EPISODE TONIGHT. FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER. AND WANTED SOMEONE TO SQUEE AT. AND THOUGHT OF YOU. SO CLICKED YOUR NCIS TAG TO FIND AN APPROPRIATE POST TO SQUEE AT YOU ON...AND FOUND THIS POST.

*THUD*

Also, the ex-partner WAS that annoying Dr from ER that I don't really know all that well because I had given up on ER by that point, even though Goran Visnjic came back around that time, too. Turns out his name is Scott Grimes.

Also! Hi, btw! I haven't been on LJ for a million years, I know. Hope you're doing well, hon.

OMG! X3 Two and a half years later! But, SQUEE AWAY FOR IT WAS SQUEE-WORTHY! Did you like it? Was it everything you'd dreamed? Were you flailing as much at the way Tony could instantly speak Gibbs as I did?! (Do you think Gibbs deliberately chose that detective duo to be the ones to catch him because he done some research on the local cops and wanted to test Tony?) *FLAILS*

*FLOPS DOWN NEXT TO YOU AND KICKS FEET IN THE AIR WITH REMEMBERED SQUEE*

In my head, I shall call him Sam Vimes. Although actually I am sure I know the name "Scott Grimes" already...

Welcome abck! LJ has been fairly slow, really. Most of my comms are dead or dying. People moved to Dreamwidth and/or tumblr. I recently got an AO3 account to host my fanfic, actually. (Tumblr is not for me. I will troll it for pictures, but the way it's set up makes conversing fannishly really difficult, and that's not what I want from an internet experience.) I'm doing pretty good, really. This week has given me a couple of nice surprises, like you leaving a comment ♥ and I choose to embrace them a aearly birthday presents~

I can't believe I've somehow managed not to see this episode (not even in that annoying half way that I get when I switch on the telly and channel surf only to find and ep already in progress) in the intervening two and a half years! It was as flail worthy as past-me had anticipated. I don't think I stopped smiling any time Baby!Tony and Gibbs were on screen. They got each other straightaway and everything was beautiful and nothing hurt and aaaaaah.
(Gibbs totally picked out Tony as the guy to catch him in advance. TOTALLY.)

*JOINS YOU IN KICKING UP FEET WITH SQUEE*
*IN A TOTALLY LADYLIKE FASHION, OF COURSE, BECAUSE I AM AT WORK RIGHT NOW, AND THEREFORE IN HEELS AND HOSE AND SKIRT-SUIT*

Thanks, hon. I think the reason I drifted was that yeah, most of my comms were dying (not helped in some cases by canon...I'm looking at you, [livejournal.com profile] speedsicle...I have a dreamwidth account that I never use, because when I joined most of my fandoms hadn't really fully migrated enough to have a strong presence. I use tumblr for the pretty, but I agree, interacting fannishly is awkward there for me. I know some other people really enjoy that fannish experience, but it isn't really for me. AO3...I have been contemplating it, but I don't really write enough to feel justified having an account? Like, I would comment on fic, but would feel like a fraud because the last thing I wrote was a million years ago? Hmmm. perhaps it is time to dust down that Regency AU speedsicle idea again? Two birds, one stone? Hmmmmm. HMMMM

Yay for early birthday surprises! I hope that when it comes, you have a lovely day. Have you got plans? Is it ridiculously cheesy to say your ♥ for my comment made my eyes into ♥s as well? I've missed you, hon. I've missed being a fan and squeeing ridiculously over comics and shows and books and stuff over the last few years - this playing at being a grown up is a terribly boring game.

Every time I watch a clip from(or a fanvid heavily focused on) this ep, I just giggle and grin a lot. It was everything I hoped for~~~~
(HEADCANON APPROVED.)

*IS WEARING PAJAMAS, THE DIGNITY VS. COMFORT LEVEL EVENS OUT, KICK KICK KICK*

In terms of speedsiclable fannishness, I have just gone back to writing the JP/Bobby fics I was pondering before JP was canonically revealed to have a crush on Bobby, i.e. AUs and Alpha Flight/New Defenders or X-Factor crossovers. I haven't got anything postable as yet, but I have many notebook pages. (Also I got really distracted by Teen Wolf.) I kinda went into a comics slumps when DCU went so terribly wrong with their reboot. I have mostly been poking Invaders, Marvel-wise, but I still have JP/Bobby in my heart! *makes heartbeting motion with her shirt*

I've seen people on AO3 who don't have anything posted, and only use their accounts to bookmark, comment, and kudos, and that's fine. *shrugs* I was commenting and kudosing before I got an account, but one feature I do like is that you can subscribe to a WIP and get email notifications when there's an update! Saves me rmmaging through my browser bookmarks. Not that I am in any way discouraging you from your Regency AU speedsicle idea at all. *unsubtly pushes pens or keyboard your way*

Aw, thank you! I do kinda have plans! The day of my birthday is election day, so my parents are visiting the day before and taking me out for lunch. Apparently we're doing Indian? And my grandmother and her sister visited town late last month and I got a card and present and awesome childhood stories about them (and my mother, mwaha), so that was good. We have a loooooot of October birthdays in my family. I guess January is popular baby-making time for us! v(._.)v

And it's not ridiculously cheesy (or if it is, I like that) because I missed you, too! *hugs* :D I hope you've been well, even though being a grown-up is boring, I agree. Drop me a comment anytime~ ♥

*IS ALSO IN PYJAMAS NOW, SO...KICK KICK KICK*

Yeah, my hands are considerable lighter these days when I leave my FLCS. *shakes fist at DC*.

I actually can't believe I just typed that.
I have been considering this Regency AU fic for about 8 years now. I don't know if I ever could write it, because I still, even after 8 years, don't know HOW it could work. I'm now considering making the story a past-life-regression-y / time travel thing. (See! I can't even commit to one of those!) But with a twist (of course) - not necessarily this Bobby's past life, but potentially the past life of someone he absorbed when he had to rebuild a body in that Hell dimension? Am I just making shit up now? Hmmm.

*hugs* right back at you! I've been alright - very little in my life has changed over the past couple of years - even more boring! I don't even have an exciting reason reason (action! adventure!) for dropping off the radar. Think it may be time to start reading the flist again, and commenting. Be careful what you wish for, you may get sick of my comments!

(And speaking of comments....maybe I will register an AO3 account....hmmm)

*snicker*

Maybe what you need to work out the kicks in your Regency AU is a co-writer or a really solid beta? Someone who knows Regency stories pretty good to help you with the structure, maybe? I think if you made the REgency thing a past life for someone Bobby absorbed (although I think he just sucked the moisture out of one big demon, didn't he?) then the focus would need to be less on the Regency stuff and more on present!Bobby having flashbacks and dealing with someone else's memories. (Potentially terribly awful memories, if they wound up in hell.) Whereas without that factor, you can either write a straight up Regency Au, or a story that's mostly aobut the Regency AU and then epilogue jumps to the present and Bobby and JP echoing something from then or realising the past life. It's not really a time period where homosexual relationships were something respectable people could maintain in public, is it? Unless you're AUing things into a better world (which, hey!) so it would likely have have an unhappy end for the boys; if it were me, I would do the epilogue as a little scene emphasizing that JP is gay and out and well known, and Bobby smiling at him or doing something that's a lot like something the Regency Bobby would do. (And then I'd leave it there, on a hopeful cliffhanger, because I love those, mwahaha.)

I feel like I repeated myself several times there. In my defense, I haven't had breakfast or a cup of tea yet.

*laugh* Oh, I won't get sick of your comments. It would be nice to start getting comment notifications again...

(Even if you never post a fic or other fanwork on AO3 -- although you could archive older stuff, I have -- everybody loves getting feedback on their writing!)

What, internet slang is totally cool, yo. I'm down with the kids.

I've been toying with the idea of a beta, someone just to bounce ideas off of, but a) been out of the fandom for a while, and so b) can't think of anyone who writes Regency-set fic. Unless you're volunteering? Heh. I might just type up all the random crap I have in my head into an epically long rambly custom-flocked-post, just to get your sense of whether or not it is something worth pursuing. Like, would you read it, even if you weren't my friend, and even if you don't do Regency? Hmmm. Will ponder that. But it may be a wee while - I'm moving house this weekend. Kinda. Half. Long story.

I think it would be an unhappy ending for the regency versions of the boys, but yeah, a hopeful, open ending for the present days ones. That was the plan anyways - and I can't see you disagreeing with that! You do like them - and I like them when you write them, even if I always want MOAR.

Right, am about to be late for work. Cheerio!

(I think I might just have to register on AO3...)

Fo' shizzle.

I can volunteer for idea-bouncing and checking spelling and grammar, with a probability of random research benders (but no guarantee!)... but be aware that I am an unreliable beta. Even if I really enjoy what you're writing, I may fall in a funk and not get back to you, and if you have a deadline (self-imposed or otherwise) I just get worse. I have come to realise this failing about myself. :( Honestly, your best bet is to poke me on AIM or in comments and throw things at me, textually speaking. I seem to do well with that. But Regency-specific stuff will be pretty much on you.

Also: a realisitically unhappy ending for the Regency versions for a happy ending for the modern makes me warm to the reincarnation idea... ;3

I hope your house moving went okay, however partial and complicated, and if you get an AO3 account lemme know and I'll subscribe, just in case you do ever post something there~
