Many people have been posting links to resurces for donating money to organizations involved in disaster relief in Japan (and China; they had a big quake, too) but here's one I haven't seen on my f-list so I thought I'd pass it along: World Vets. Because animals also need saving. Example: Cat Island, the people and animals survived but they have no access to food at the moment.

I'm going to talk with my parents about making some donations when I go home in a week. I typically make small donations, but I'd have to talk with them about something large.

*sigh* So much devastation.

And so few deaths for the amount of devastation there's been. Japan is fully aware that it sits on the Ring of Fire, and is probably the country most prepared to deal with earthquakes and their consequences. That is paying off. It's still terrible, but it could have been so much worse.
