Title: Five Things Kirk Said In Communications to Spock Prime
Fandom: Star Trek. Lots of it.
Summary: See title (obviously I think they're keeping in touch)
Author's Notes: I'm not sure this counts as fanfic, unless it's epistolary in nature. Which I guess it is.

1. So! You're older than your dad. That must be weird.

2. Are you serious? Uhura and Scotty?! That's awesome!

3. Hey, no, c'mon -- you didn't know their sun would blow that soon. The rest is Nero's fault. He changed the timeline and he destroyed Vulcan. Stop blaming yourself; it's not your fault. Hell, it's more my fault than yours...

4. It helps if I think of you as two separate people, which, hey, you are. I still want to kick his ass sometimes.

5. (I'm sorry I'm not him.)

v(._.)v I say "old!Spock" but "Spock Prime" is what's mostly being used and may even be official, though not ever said on screen...

I'm pretty sure he was called "Spock Prime" in the credits.

I know! ;~; And yet it makes sense.

Did you know that the movie was originally scripted to have old!Spock, in the scene where he meets his younger alternate self, reveal that he carries on him a locket which activates to show a tiny holographic message from Kirk congratulating him on being appointed an Ambassador and basically saying how much Kirk misses him?

1. *chortles*

2. Things like this make me wish I was more familiar with the original series. I mean, I watched a lot of it, but not all of it, and it's been so long that I don't remember~

4. I think the original Kirk still felt that sentiment for his Spock from time to time, too. ;3

5. ;o;

1. I imagine Sarek will have some difficulty dealing with it. ;3

2. This reference was drawn from the events of Star Trek V, and the less you remember about that one, the better. X3 (I recently read a fanfic wherein Kirk was feverish and kept waking up from a nightmare he was having that was basically that movie, and Spock kept reassuring him that it couldn't have happened by pointing out the enormous frigging plotholes and serious inconsistencies. Best explanation I've ever seen.) They never actually got together -- Scotty wasn't interested.

4. Pffft, probably! XD

5. *offers new!Kirk for hugging*

1. Hee~ Sarek needs to have his world shaken up a bit. :3

2. Ahh. Yeah, it's been a very long time since I saw Star Trek V.

5. *hugs him - and Spock Prime, too*

I want to read Spock Prime fic now. Sadly, I haven't found much in the Pit yet that's really worth reading. Might go poke it again to see if anything new has cropped up.

1. Sometimes he does. Sometimes he kicks ass, though. ;3

2. For a long time, I just remembered "the one with the whales" and then a sort of giant blob of Star Trek where Khan has a shiny chest and Spock dies and they steal the Enterprise and at one point Kirk climbs a cliff and falls and Spock catches him because he is wearing an anti-grav belt or something.

I hope to rectify this! I want to get the movies on DVD. :3

5. *joins in the huuuuugs*

So do I! There's a lot of new!Kirk/new!Spock that's very very down on old!Spock and it makes me sad. :(

Star Trek IV was one of my favorite Star Trek movies. Yeah, the whole whales thing was just a little out there, but hey! Time travel! :3

To be honest, I don't like new!Spock anywhere near as much as I like OS!Spock or old!Spock. Original universe Spock rocks my socks.
