Oh, Saji...

I watched the first episode of Season 2 of Gundam 00, and now I have something I'd really like to tell Saji Crossroads. So here it is:
Setsuna isn't going to flinch when you blame him for your dead sister and your maimed and traumatized and orphaned girlfriend, Saji. He doesn't flinch over his own slaughtered family, unfortunate casualties of war -- and he killed them, himself, with a gun from a few feet away, when he was a kid. It's not that he doesn't think you have reason to be upset, angry, broken apart -- he knows you do.
Yes, he knows you do. That's why he wouldn't have moved if you had decided to shoot him. Most people would have had the gun off them and their wrist broken before you got around to the tears, honey. Setsuna would have let you shoot him, because he believes you have the right. Just like he believes Lockon had the right. It doesn't matter how much good he could do as a Gundam Meister towards perhaps stopping war (which is a tricky concept anyway), he can be replaced. He doesn't see himself as your better. Justice applies. You have been harmed my him, and you deserve restitution. You deserve revenge.
But I think he also knew you wouldn't shoot. And I think, in not shooting, you have confirmed for him that you're basically a good person. As such, you are one of the reasons he is fighting: so that children can become people like you, instead of people like him.
I'm not sure what you'd do with that information, if you could have it right now. I have a feeling that at some point, you'll be finding out.
