(New icon! *dances*)

Both of the Superboy fics I've posted on this journal involve Kon's time with the post-boot Legion, so I figured I'd provide a sort of guide to what the hell I'm talking about, here. XD Especially as I plan to post more! Under the cut you will find some issue summaries, and about 20 pictures. HUGE ones, for the most part, sorry. Not for the weak of net connection! All of the pictures are also available in a gallery in my Scrapbook. Most of the scans are from when Kon was stranded in the future (from The Legion #25-33) because I love Batista's art. Thus, this'll begin with storytime as I tell y'all where the relationship between Kon and Lar -- Lar Gand, aka Valor, Mon-El, and M'Onel -- began, a meeting which was unfortunately drawn by Tom Grummet, meaning everyone has the same weird face.

Also, Cosmic Boy is a bitch.

Check it out. )

* Okay, something I find rather interesting is that Imra -- Saturn Girl, who is notorious for being a bit of a bitch and, in this version, occasionally mentally unstable -- always has Kon's back. Especially the first time he showed up. I'm guessing it's because, being a powerful telepath, she can see him for who he really is.

Kon: I'm -- I'm just a walking screw-up, you know?
Imra: Well...I have a sense about you. You may indeed be capable of "screwing up," but when you do -- you just fix it.

♣ I keep having this plotbunny that involves NeXtwave, so yesterday I bought the NeXtwave TPB. We'll see how that goes. eta conclusion: Ehhh. :(

♣ I have Willie Nelson's cover of "Cowboys are Frequently, Secretly Fond of Each Other" stuck in my head.

[livejournal.com profile] boostlethon Summer 2009 sign-ups are a-go-go! I've registered; have you?

♣ Also purchased yesterday: a Lupin III pin! (green blazer) And a chibi Kurama pin. As psychedelic as they look against my backpack, I think I'll take them off of it; Lupin especially has gangly limbs sticking out to catch on stuff, and I don't want to lose them. I find myself amused that I can look at the Kurama pin and immediately know which story had the illustration it's based off of in it. X3

♣ In February, I came across a geeky Valentines mix, which included the song "She Make It So" by Warp 11. Yesterday or the day before, I found the band's website and I'm a little disappointed; their lyrics are really repetitive from one song to the next, one album to the next. I suppose that makes it all the more impressive that the songs "He's Dead, Jim", "I'm Dead, Jim", and "It's Dead, Jim" are so different, especially as they come one after the other on one album...

♣ Ely: *turns on iTunes*
iTunes: Download new version? :D?
Ely: Sure.
iTunes: You already have it! Gotcha!
Ely: wtf ._.

ETA: so of course when I tried to listen to my iPod on the way to work, it didn't work properly. *sigh* Why you gotta lie to me, iTunes?
