Today I bought books. (I also bought two pens, two pins, and two dinners.) They are:
Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson, which I have long wanted to read;
The Diamond Age, Or, A Young Lady's Illustrated Primer by Neal Stephenson, which comes after Snow Crash and I most recently heard about in the news posts over on Penny Arcade;
and, STEAMPUNK which is an anthology edited by Ann & Jeff Vandermeer. It happens to contain a short story by Neal Stephenson. ;3 It also has an essay about steampunk in comics, which I may just read first. :D

Hooray for Snow Crash! I have an audio-book of it read by Stephen Fry if you're interested (I like to listen while reading along, it reminds me of school days long gone). As for The Diamond Age, do you mean he simply wrote it after Snow Crash, or is it a sequel (or not a sequel per se, while occurring in the same universe)? I would love to read a sequel.

I have never listened to an audiobook, actually. Hmm. I'll think about it. :3

I mean it's set in the same universe, or can be seen to be, but with many years (60 to 80) in between. The entry on the book on Wikipedia gives reasons why you could think this, but they don't mean anything to me yet, as I haven't read either. ;)
