Give me one of my own stories, and a timestamp sometime in the future after the end of the story, or sometime in the past before the story started, and I'll write you at least a hundred words of what happened then, whether it's five minutes before the story started or ten years in the future.

Just to be helpful... (or check out what's tagged with "fanfic" in my journal, which you can do by clicking that same tag on this post.)

Um. Won't ask about either A Gentleman Never Tells or Jean-Paul Beaubier and the Mystery of the Velvet Shirt, because they're WIPs, and asking wouldn't be fair, but zomg, I love them both so so much and if you were to write more of either, I'd totally squeal and jump up and down and clap my hands generally make a fool of myself. And...half of the beauty of To Challenge the Stars is not knowing what is about to happen.

So....I'm going to ask about (oh god, how to choose only one)...the day after For the Record (here (http://community.livejournal.com/speedsicle/86605.html)).

WIPs that I am stalled on are fair game! Those both count. #^_^#

(Witness the author stalling for time. I never thought past that! *flail* XD Now I'm thinking, I'm thinking...)

Amazing, the number of things that needed doing now that Jean-Paul was out of the infirmary. (Including regularly checking in with the infirmary, since he'd more-or-less released himself.) He had to give an official statement about the Genoshan mud-man's attack on Bobby, since apparently charges for attempted murder were very likely to be pressed. (Or something. The Anglo-Canadian legal system didn't make a lot of sense to him, much less the American one.) Also, it turned out Bobby hadn't been entirely kidding about the training: Summers was already after him about scheduling danger room sessions.

It kept coming back to Bobby, which made trying to stay focussed difficult, what with the revelation he had made to Jean-Paul about his sexual orientation.

"I'm not straight."

Bobby hadn't explicitly said he was interested in Jean-Paul, which was worrisome. On the other hand, he'd made a point of telling Jean-Paul what he'd heard, and that he wasn't straight, and then he thought Jean-Paul was handsome. And he'd been so pleased.

It was possible it was a joke. Jean-Paul hoped not.

He caught up with Annie after lunch, and somehow she could tell immediately that something had changed. He managed to escape her interrogation without revealing every little detail. However, he had to get to Bobby before she did. God alone knew what she'd meant by "playing Cupid".

Bobby, it turned out, was in his room, laying flat on his back on his bed. He was in jeans and what looked like a pajama top, open at the neck. The bruises thus revealed gave Jean-Paul a visceral flashback to the sight of Bobby dangling above the ground, head encased in mud. He hadn't even fought back, probably because of that empathic blue bitch. He had to close his eyes and count to 50 to stifle the panic that threatened to tighten around his heart like a vice, as it had then.

He floated into the air, tilting his body horizontal and then drifting into Bobby's field of view.

"Oh, hi!"

"Hello. How are you feeling?"

"Uh... very stiff. And not in the fun way," Bobby admitted with a sheepish chuckle. "Guess I won't be dancing any time soon."

"Mmmm, dancing, perhaps not. But I believe you do still owe me dinner." Jean-Paul arched an eyebrow and crossed his arms.

To his great relief, a slow, slightly wicked smile formed on Bobby's face.

"So I do. But, y'know, the commons are not too lucky for me lately. Do you like steak? I know this great place down in White Plains..."

Jean-Paul smiled back.

Oh my word, I love this. I love Jean-Paul's doubt and hesistation and especially his reaction to Bobby's bruises, and I love how confident Bobby is accross the two fics. Thank you so much for writing it! (And please accept my apologies for not getting online and commenting sooner!)

YAY! :D I'm glad your happy with it. I think it might be about as long as "For the Record". X3 I'm kind of wondering if I should post it to a comm, actually, since it's definitely more than a drabble. Thank you for asking for this one! I really hadn't gone further along that story in my own mind so you didn't just make me write, you made me think, and that's always good. :3

I'm picturing a line of warm fuzzies sailing back and forth between us. XD They're pink.

Yay! I hope people like it as much as I do.

Pink, yay! Also glittery? (while remaning fuzzy, of course)

My grandmother gave me a scarf that matches this description for Christmas! :O

Ooh! *is jealous*

I have no fluffy glittery pink scarf. Woe.

Pink, yes (multiple times over), fluffy and pink, yes (um, at least one), glittery and pink, yes (just the one - and it's pink and gold and silver and paisely and much less hideous than I'm making it sound). but no fluffy pink and glittery. Clearly I know what to ask Santa for this Christmas!
From: [identity profile] eliyes.livejournal.com
The only problem is that the glitter kinda scratches. :/ So I usually wear the scarf I bought, which is just plain red cotton, a foot wide and 9 feet long. ;3
From: [identity profile] hybridhelen.livejournal.com
Ooh, that sounds like an ace scarf. Longer scarves >> shorter scares. FACT.

When I'm cold in class I wear it as a shawl. Sometimes with a hood made of scarf. Basically, it's the most versatile garment I own. X3
From: [identity profile] hybridhelen.livejournal.com
My favourite scarves are the ones I can do the shawl thing with. I don't think I've ever done the hood thing though. Must, at some point.

I had this one professor who especially had to put up with me in Jawa mode, since I almost never had to take notes in his class (because he lectured a total of two hours combined over the entire semester RAR) and so being nothing but a half-hidden face staring out from a heap of scarf was easy.

Man that class sucked. :(

Jawa mode - HEE!

2 hours in a whole semester? What?!

I'm sorry that class sucked.

This man was the master of wasting time. Seriously. I want my tuition money back. I LEARNED NOTHING.
