Picked this up from [livejournal.com profile] ladycat777:

Ask me for a fannish opinion, in any fandom I've ever shown any interest in. Ask about a character, a plot point, for speculation. Ask me about some meta issue, whatever. I'm fearless.

Yoroiden and / or Ronin Warriors.

Random speculation on why they did the OAVs they did? Vitriol permitted and indeed expected ;3

Well, Gaiden they just did as a fun adventure let's-go-abroad type gaiden, and that's fine. It doesn't really make a lot of sense but it's not a bad story, and the art is mostly pretty. :3

Kikoutei Densetsu... I have no fucking idea. Way to break your own continuity there, people! I mean, I realize they never explained the Kikoutei in YST, not really. But even so, this thing with Africa DOES NOT FIT. KD is meant to be all 'FIGHTING IS BAD' aaaaand why is this attached to a magical armour sentai cartoon? It really doesn't fit.

Message doesn't fit as a follow-up to KD, but runs with that same theme of "fighting bad omg" in the most nonsensically surreal way possible -- but then they end up with new armours? Um, what?

Basically they get nothing across that is not counterindicated at least twice. B|

And when combined with the soulcrushing angst that both KD and especially Message grind into the character's personalities like using a jackhammer to put square pegs in round holes ...

*hits self with anvil to make the pain stop*

KD causes me agony. Someday, we need to make more yoroi from that story just to be jackasses. Or something.

... I take that back. I'd rather stab myself in the eye with a rusty spork than deal with KD or Message. Gaah.

KD destroyed the series premise, Message destroyed the Troopers' very selves. They're just hollow shells.

Love of Percy, for starters. I mean that in a brotherly, hero worship kind of way. Also, thirst of adventure. Most of the Leaguers were far too wild to get on without an outlet. Fortunately for them, the French started cutting off people's heads. :V

But mostly it's Percy. Loyalty and trust in him.

Star Trek: Why do the most well-known members of the crew (almost) never get killed on away missions, even when they're fresh out of the Academy? ;)

Providence?

I dunno. I think the road to fame in the 24th century is closely linked with the ability to survive all kinds of crap, even when you really really shouldn't. But mostly, it's the intervention of a higher being.

The writer.
