This would be much easier if I could figure out my roommate's scanner. Alas.

1) remove cruft (P2, etc) from top of scanner.

2) lift scanner lid.

3) put in stuff.

4) lower scanner lid.

5) press "scan" button on left side.

6) play with results in program that opens on computer screen.
