Just watched SGA episode "Critical Mass"

I had some trouble tracking down a copy I could watch, but I'm glad I did, because skipping this would have sucked.
A synopsis of the plot is here .
Things, out of order:
- I'm guessing Cadman stayed on with Atlantis because things were going well with Carson, especially since the episode before, he mentioned having a date with her and in this one at the end they're hanging out together without jackets or labcoats. Awww!
- I'm a little surprised that Rodney didn't bring up that Cadman might have gleaned knowledge of Atlantis' systems from her time stuck in his head as evidence against her; it would certainly have helped with figuring out how to set up the very clever "explode Atlantis: and if this doesn't work, then this instead" stuff. Maybe he was going to, but she interrupted. It seemed pretty obvious that she knew he was accusing her. Granted, the door was open.
- I always find it adorable the way Rodney kinda really loves the Asgard. John being freaked out by them (little grey men! Only sort of mottled pink and grey, in Hermiod's case at least) is amusing, yes, but that just highlights all the more how Rodney totally isn't. He's all excited about their fabulously advanced math, it's so cute. :D And also interesting that he doesn't have any trouble acknowledging inferiority here. Ego isn't coming into it because they're smarter than everyone, maybe? Hm.
- There are so many reasons you could postulate for why Ronon offered to torture Kavanaugh, and why John and Elizabeth accepted that it would be him instead of one of the people from Earth. Well, one is that he's huge and terrifying (when he wants to be) and has many many knives. The Terrans are still kind of soft compared to him, and he knows that. While the Terran military personnel could be capable of torturing a terrorist in order to save the planet, it would definitely make the civilian science contingent see them in a less protective, more menacing light (especially as Kavanaugh is a scientist). Ronon is still outside that social relationship, and so while it would affect how he was seen -- and, let's face it, also how the leaders were seen, for allowing it -- it would be potentially less damaging. I think he knew that, and that's why he offered.
- I love that they have Ronon leading a team looking for bombs. We'll be seeing that Sateda had fairly advanced technology, above the Pegasus median. Probably more advanced than the Genii or Hoffans. Elizabeth seems kinda weird about it, though.
- I liked the use of the Ring Ceremony's song as a method of overlaying this lovely song on the climax of the episode, and matching the lyrics to individual character's emotions, like "pain and sorrow" for Elizabeth, and the return at the end of the song, that life will begin again with a new breath, when the city has been saved. It was a nice story-enhancing tool, as well as a lovely song.
- Relatedly, I like that Carson stayed for the funeral. That's the second old lady who's died in his hospital. Poor guy, I wonder if they remind him of his mother.
- Also relatedly, Teyla had a really really awesome dress for the funeral. So very pretty. I wonder if she just likes the colour blue or if it's a clan or leader thing...? And I cheered for the return of her Athosian pants, I will admit. Also, I dug all the rich textiles they draped on the body. The Athosians are really keen on textiles, I've noticed. I wonder if they weave them or trade for them or what?
