Sympatico MSN has a video for a single from David Usher's new solo album up. I admit, a lot of the time I don't watch his videos. There's often so much in the audio, and he does the same thing with the video so it doubles the amount of information you're trying to absorb. I find them hard to concentrate on.

I watched it anyway. I can't comment on the song -- I'm not sure I could honestly say I heard it -- but the visual is David's manic-ecstatic-agonized performance of Insanity As Creative Process.

Aaaaand he's so pretty. /shallow

I like the song, though it's not my favourite on the album by far. The video, not so much. Honestly, I don't get his videos at all, but I'm not much of an artist. I'm just impressed I get so excited by his lyrics since I'm not much for poetry either. (I did like the video for Resurrection though)

However, the video did hit #1 on MuchMoreMusic, so there must be something good about it.

It may just be that he's half naked through it all.

/also shallow.

Oh, I forgot to ask. Did you go to the concert in Halifax? I heard mixed reviews on it, but mostly good. He's in Oakville this month, so I'm dragging some friends, and we're going :)

I haven't seen the Resurrection video. The Alone in the Universe one made me dislike the song for a while.

Granted, the video for Franz Ferdinand's Michael is really odd and nothing like what the song's lyrics bring to mind for me, at least.

God does he ever look young there.

I didn't even realize there was a video for Alone in the Universe. Haven't seen it yet.

It's David on a tiny stage surrounded by a crowd, needing a shave and to grow out his hair and wearing a ratty blue hoody.

I found it on youtube... your description made me curious :)

Actually, I think he looks good.. well, not the clothes, but you're right, that video is decidedly uninspired and about sums up everything I don't like about Morning Orbit (which by the way, I like a lot better than I did when I reviewed it, but my criticisms still stand.) :P

I don't know what he's got against using imagery inspired by his lyrics, but he certainly does seem to shy from it. Surfacing is the only video I've seen that seems to actually relate to the song.

But meh.. what do I know about videos, i never really watched them growing up.

I think he doesn't want to be obvious.

OK, so, I just now watched the video you linked to me. ^^; And it's awesome! I think someone had mentioned it to be before, something about David walking through walls. Possibly it was even you! I really like how the cells get much more claustrophobic do the chorus, and it's interesting how the two people who were kissing through a wall ignore each other when they're in the same space.... Doesn't really 'match' the song, though.
