So.

I just spent over $100 on comics, only three of which were new. I think someone must have traded in their run on X-Factor, because I cleared out a LOT of books, and I have 2/3rds of what I grabbed from the bin waiting in my pullfile shelf.

IIRC, Rusty's debut is in X-Factor #1, which I didn't get. But I have the first appearances of Skids, Boomer, Frenzy, Apocalypse, Warren-as-Death...

and Rictor.

Oh! And the stuff with Bobby's powers amped and needing the belt. Mwaha.

I know I got a significant discount when I made this purchase, because the FLCS owner wouldn't tell me what the price was before it. (Always a sign. He is such a sweetie.)

I also bought an issue of X-Force with Rictor and Shatterstar on the cover posing on motorbikes that match one another's uniforms, because I have heard it is silly. :3

I will read all this stuff after I sleep. *flops*

Julio's first appearance? As in, torture by the Right?

Hahaha, let me know about the motorcycle one.

Holy. Shit.

Did you know that Rictor probably wasn't Mexican, originally? That he knew how to play chess when they got him? Was willing to fire a machine gun, and knew how, having already been trained some as a soldier in his childhood in Central America?

They weren't that expensive, so you could check your Friendly Local Comic Store (FLCS) for the back issues. Unlike me, you don't really need to buy all of X-Factor. ^^; 17-23 is a Rictor arc. In 17 he's introduced, 19 is a really really cute issue, and then the kids are attacked by The Right.

And man, this "suicidal" thing isn't really... new.

He talks a lot about "back in Mexico": Central Park's muggers are famous even in Mexico, his mother back in Mexico said, he destroyed a city in Mexico... He never actually says he's from Mexico, and he only mentions his mother in conjunction with it. But he also learned how to use a machine gun in "Central America".

I've bene adding quotes like crazy to his quote page on the MArvel Database wiki (http://www.marveldatabase.com/Rictor/Quotes).

I don't have a FLCS. Not even a NSFLCS (Not-So-Friendly Local Comic Store). The nearest one is an hour away in 'Mad-town' which I avoid if at all possible due to its madness.

That's so crazy though. And I read your other post, and I feel like a bad little fanfic writer, but really, I can't be blamed. Most of my stuff is built off what I read from fansites and other people, which I wrongly assumed was canon.

Well, and anytime we write in different verses, it's okay to say he's illiterate, or whatever else, because it's a different universe! ^^ And that makes it okay.

I really wish I knew more about him though. >.< I really wish I had a comic store. Most of my backissues have come from Ebay, but it's so hard to find the stuff you really want there.

Hey, you're actually one of my top two ficcers! I went on a RicStar blitz and read a lot of stuff not too long ago, so of course, 98% of anything being crud, I found some less-than-stellar ones.

*petpets movieverse!Ric* Yuss. Other 'verses get a pass on whatever you want them to, really. (Someday, I will unleash my enslaved-by-aliens Gaveedra and Julio on the world -- someday! *tiny fistshake*)

I think it might be possible to find a Friendly Online Comic Store that lists it's backissues...?

I am?! Holy crap. That makes me sparkle.

hahahaha, excellent, alien enslavement. I still want to do an Ultimate version of them. I sort of started one, and abandoned it. But someday. *echoes tiny fistshake*

I never even thought of such a thing! I will go check right now!

Yep. You and Tangerine. I've read a lot of JaneTe's stuff, but they actually tend to be fairly shakey on continuity. (For example, Bobby Drake was not ten years old when he came to the mansion, and Hank McCoy is not ten years his senior! X| Yeesh!)

I have some many started fics that I may never finish. Sometimes it's because I realise "hey, this isn't working like I want" but often it's because I get distracte dbyt another idea and eventually try to go abck to it...

I know they exist! Good luck!
