I didn't manage to stay off the computer at work.

I'm a big fan of Eurythmics and sometimes moreso Annie Lennox's solo works. Despite this, I had only seen maybe three videos? This is a real shame, because Annie loves cracktastic costume videos, and they often give an interesting new dimension to a song. YouTube proved to have a real treasure trove of old Eurythmic vids ...with no sound. Er? If you don't know the songs, that doesn't quite work.

Eurythmics videos were always kind of cracky to begin with. This is the only one with sound I could really find. It's for Who's That Girl?, and it's fun to spot all the people Annie plays in this video. Hint: it's more than two.

I found footage of David Bowie and Annie singing at the Freddie Mercury tribute concert, but the sound was truly abyssmal. Feel free to look, though - she has on some amazing raccoon make-up.

Next up, one of my favourite songs, Love Song For A Vampire. Compare the video to this theatrical live version and tell me which one you think has the better psycho faces. (I apologise in advance for the obnoxious announcer at the end of the live one. I reccommend you turn it off when she's done singing to avoid him.)

No More I Love Yous had an unexpected amount of crossdressing, I must say. I especially like the ballerina with the tattoo on his arm. I took one look at Annie's hairdo and suddenly grokked what an influence she's had on goth fashion; I'm sure I've seen that in Gloomcookie.

A Whiter Shade of Pale is another favourite, and the video very strangely has a circus theme. A circus with problems, mind. And Annie in a bear suit.

For a very long time, Walking On Broken Glass was my absolute favourite Annie Lennox song. Even before I knew it was Annie Lennox! The video is unexpectedly delightful, with lots of emotion and really good facial expressions and a very clear plot.

This one is a double header! Waiting In Vain, featuring multiple Minnie Mouse Annies, and Something So Right, which seems to be inspired by the type of posed photography I used to look at on Shanmonster's site.

As a special bonus, have Tina Turner and Cher overenthusiastically performing together in matching costumes! The song is Shame Shame Shame. Yes.
