Namor being an ass to Human Torch, one of his best buds, as is typical. X3 I just needed an Invaders icon, and seriously, they do this ALL THE TIME. So I iconned it! :D
This is Stormer from the cartoon JEM. She's the "nice" Misfit. She's wearing headphones and listening to music. I often use this icon for posts discussing music or to do with lyrics.
This is one of my several Pimpernel icons! Lord Percival Blakeney, here played by Anthony Andrews in the 1982 film version, hold a quizzing glass up to his face and make an exaggerated "WOT?" face. XD I loved this scene. XD I use this for when I am expressing bafflement or posting about Pimpernel things, or having a Pimpernel icon thing with kiffie. :3
Ah, this is the symbol used by the Sons of Ether, one of the mage traditions from the game Mage: the Ascension. (Read their splat here!) Pulp science, comic book superscience, steampunk, wonder-working, imaginative metaphysics -- if this sounds good to you, if you believe Real Science comes from the spark of imagination, if you understand that science does not destroy but in fact creates wonder in the universe, and science ≠ banality... then the Sons of Ether may be for you! (In a game where the bad guys are assholes called the Technocracy who basically embody mind-freezing banality? This is a powerful message.) I use this icon... for many things (it's my default), but often specifically for posts about Science!, wonderment, cool inventions, steampunk, and other niftiness.
N'awww, aren't they cute? In context, the pic this icon is cropped from has them unconscious, not sleeping, but still... adorable. This is superhero Querl Dox (aka Brainiac 5 -- post-Zero Hour version for the DC fen in the audience) and his pet monkey, Koko. Well. Maybe Brainy is Koko's pet, it's not really clear. (I'm gonna do a post about them real soon.) I use this for sleepiness and Legion posts.
Eheh. X3 Okay, so, there's this scene in an episode of Babylon 5 where Susan Ivanova (the woman) is commanding a fleet of Minbari fighter ships against the bad guys. And of course the crews are all Minbari, so she's made the effort to learn some of the language so she doesn't have to wait for a translation in the heat of battle. She gives the orders to move out at the beginning of their mission, and we get the subtitles, and she must have gotten the pronunciation wrong... XD She said "brickbat lingerie". It's nonsense, clearly (Marcus Cole, the guy, speaks the language much better and clarifies, but I don't think she ever realises her error). XD XD I just... I love Ivanova, I love Marcus, I love the story of their relationship (friendly, tragic, one-sided passion on his part) -- I wanted an icon of them, so this is one of my Bab5 icons. I generally use it when I'm confused or dealing with silliness.

The only thing that could make that omg ohnoes icon that's everywhere more perfect was to have a version with my two fave panic-prone but doom-defeating scientists from SGA doing it -- so as soon as I saw it, I stole it. I use this for posting about SGA, and any time running around flailing your arms and yelling omg ohnoes is appropriate.
Rodney the Robot stealing a cupcake from the Cupcake Forest to bring to, iirc, the Troll King, during his photocomic adventures. Alas, the LJer who made and photographed and iconned this left LJ a while back, so I can no longer direct people to the story. Take my word for it that it was cute, and I was hard-pressed to pick from the many icons she made from it, but really... A tiny robot carrying a cupcake on his back... and his name is Rodney... how could I pass it up? I use this for posting about sweets or robots, and basically whenever I think he'd add to a discussion. Isn't he cute? :3
Lex Luthor being badass. I only wish I could have animated to cycle between this dialogue bubble and the ones where he tells Joker that Batman likes Catwoman better and will never ask Joker to the prom. I basically only use this when I am both angry and insulted. Or mocking same. Or talking about Lex's massive ego and/or time as president (as here).
Everyone needs a splat icon, right? Right. I use this both for being dead of laughter, and mortified by my own error or denseness or whatever. Or talking about angels.
This is cropped from a little fancomic where Lyle (of G00 S2) pops out of the casket of his dead brother and says he's not dead, and then is like "J/K LOL I'm really Lyle his brother" and Feldt belts him. I love Feldt and want her to have a chance to shine as the badass I know she can be, and I hate Lyle -- he doesn't deserve the Lockon name, I miss his brother -- G00 was disappointing to me. This expresses all that, and also I use it when people are being bastards or need to be hit.
Vexen is one of if not my most favourite characters from Kingdom Hearts. And here he is chibi. And sulking. He does Science! (see Sons of Ether, above), so I iconned him. I use this for Science!, and sulking, and talking about Kingdom Hearts and/or Vexen.

Date: 2011-08-31 11:02 am (UTC)There. Although I gotta ask, is that meant to be a Wonder Woman related icon, or just bondage in general?
