eliyeseta: TRIUMPH! I haev figured it out!
I want to add a few songs to my iPod, so I start up iTunes, adn since it's been, oh, a month since I last used it, there is an update. (There is always an update. It's my least favourite thing about iTunes.) So I let it update.
When it is finished updating adn restarting my computer and generally being a pain, I go to my iPod playlist to update it and...
and...
what the hell. It's been put in alphabetical order by song title. What is this? I don't --
No. No, I can handle this.
So I delete that playlist, turn on my actual iPod and start remaking it in the order I want. I'm about 50 songs in, maybe, when I realise that two songs ago or so I put in a song that has a studio and live version, and I'm not sure which one I put in. So I check.
THE PLAYLIST IS ALPHABETIZED AGAIN. *bursts into flames*
The iTunes page? I checked it. It doens't mention anything about this. It specifically states that the songs will go into the playlist IN THE ORDER YOU PUT THEM IN. Just like before.
