Ew, mealworm lollipop? We just fry them and flavour them like chips, here. Now, scorpion lollipops we have --
No, these are the colourful iridescent wings of some butterfly-like insect, candied so they look like they're frosted with tiny diamonds. They're sweet and crunchy and oddly spicy. I get the impression it's not a treat native to his world, but rather something Shotakari trade for, a delicacy. Sometimes he gets a small box of them in care packages.
They kinda freak his first post-Academy roomie out. I'm thinking of writing a story about the guy feeling bad for judging Gary (Nuni's Academy roomie, you will recall~) for looking so longsuffering about his alien roomie.
Especially once they have the "this is my eyeball box" talk.
AHAHAHA eyeball box. I remember you telling me about that. X3
Now I imagine these things tasting like strawberry balls. And have a craving for said strawberry balls. I love them, but my tolerance for spicy is nil, so I always end up burning my taste buds off. :/
Man, I logged that! That was pure synergistic brilliance! :D
*looks down at her strawberry popsicle she just started eating and wonders how you did that* ...I've never had these strawberry balls you speak of, though.
Strawberry balls are candy. They're like... strawberry gummies, with a much coarser consistency than gummy worms, and the outer coating has chili powder mixed in. They're very, very good. :9
Maybe I will send you some the next time I get a baggie. :9
I would totally love to see Nuni trying to get Gary to eat Shotakari food and, conversely, Gary trying to get Nuni to eat (lactose free, I'd imagine) pizza.

*pictures Sulu and Uhura trying to get Chekov to eat these*
But no, Nuni's snack is not that spicy.
EYEBALLS!

You realize that Nuni has probably pimped out his eyeball box, right?
Date: 2010-02-08 08:14 am (UTC)It wouldn't work; he can't eat the crust, either. Nuni brings his tricorder to every meal, in the Academy. You'd be amazed where wheat gets to.
I have a book where Captain Christopher Pike eats pizza with a Klingon. XD
Oh lord. XD
Date: 2010-02-08 05:31 pm (UTC)Which book is this?

Date: 2010-02-08 05:59 pm (UTC)He also surfs space whales that shoot LAZOR BEEMS and wrestles giant spacewhale-eating tentacle monsters. This book is the CRACK! XD
