Having acquired a copy of Star Trek: Mere Anarchy, a compilation of a series of e-books telling an extended story, one part of which is The Blood-Dimmed Tide, which contains (among others) the Klingon Mara from the TOS episode "Day of the Dove", I decided to watch said episode to review.

Aaaaand I just have to laugh at some of the slashy editing.

Mara is beamed aboard, she runs to Kang's side. Kang introduces her as bth his wife and his science officer.

The camera cuts to Spock and Kirk, who say nothing, then back to the Klingons.

Seriously, was there any reason other than to show Kirk with his science officer (and possibly more) for that cut? They don't react.

A reaction-less reaction shot? I love it!

I mean, I understand cutting back to them when Mara starts the list of terrible things the Federation does to its prisoners, all of which is untrue and so understandable gets some eyebrow action from Spock and Kirk's mouth actually dropping open a little, but the WIFE AND SCIENCE OFFICER thing was just... XD Seriously, how am I supposed to take that?
