I'm listening to Beauty & the Beast again, and once more I really want to know what the hell happened to the "young prince"'s parents.

Also, Maurice and the book shop owner are totally doing it.

I'm inclined to think he was an orphan, really, because that might mitigate how very much the castle staff spoiled him. He is specifically called "spoiled", and they were punished for doing it by 10 years as household fixtures.

I do wonder what happened to the actual furniture and dishes and such. Did they merge? Where they destroyed by the spell?

Also, I assume the staff didn't age from the moment they were transformed, because otherwise Chip disturbs me.

And I'm frankly disturbed enough by the spider-skittery carriage. *shudder*
