So I'm watching "The Enemy Within" -- you know, the episode of TOS where Kirk is split into a gentle intellectual and an aggressive Id manifest -- and we hit the scene were Rand discovers animal!Kirk in her quarters.
Rand: Oh! Captain, you startled me. Is there something that you--
And she stops. It's probably meant to be seen as because he's drinking brandy out of the bottle, but you know, I think it might be more because he obviously got into her make-up. I mean, he certainly wasn't wearing such heavy eyeliner last time she saw him.
Prior to this, I watched "Court Martial" and was amused by Bones and Spock's approach to court-appropriate eye-shadow: wear it, but it must be somber and smokey, and very neat, not extending past the eyebrow. X3
P.S. Re: "The Enemy Within" -- why the hell didn't they send down a shuttle to pick up the landing party when the transporter broke?
P.P.S. Ooh! Good quote!
Spock: Captain! No disrespect intended, but you must surely realise you can't announce the full truth to the crew. You're the captain of this ship; you haven't the right to be vulnerable in the eyes of the crew. You can't afford the luxury of being anything less than perfect. If you do, they lose faith -- and you lose command.
