It occurred to five or six years ago, my FLCS had a box of used novels for various of th Star Trek series. Today I asked after it, and got to root through what was left. I picked up 12 books for $20!

Here's what I got:
My Enemy, My Ally by Diane Duane
Demons by J.M. Dillard
Memory Prime by Gar and Judith Reeves-Stevens (who regularly co-write with Shatner)
Black Fire by Sonni Cooper
The Wounded Sky by Diane Duane
The Prometheus Design by Sondra Marshak and Myrna Culbreath
Corona by Greg Bear
Mindshadow by J.M. Dillard
Deep Domain by Howard Weinstein
The Entropy Effect by Vonda N. McIntyre
Enemy Unseen by V.E. Mitchell
and the lone TNG book of the lot, A Rock and a Hard Place by Peter David (aka the second cover here).

I need to stay the hell away from Shatner's blog, it's addictive.

I will tell you right now I have a massive girlcrush on Ael t'Rllaillieu, the Romulan commander from My Enemy, My Ally and have pretty much wanted to be her when I grow up for my entire life.

Have you read any of the other books with her in them? One of my coworkers has left a copy of The Empty Chair in the office, but I dislike picking up books of a story arc out of order. I like Diane Duane when she's writing spell-casting cats...

My Enemy, My Ally and the whole series with Ael are some of the best ST TOS books out there.

Black Fire is cracktastic space pirates.

Wounded Sky is pretty cool, too.

I have to admit to being a little cautious about picking up books which look to focus less on the series characters.

Space pirates is why I grabbed it, yeah. ;3

I remember Black Fire really, really appealing to me when I read it. I still have a copy of it somewhere. :3

Although the TOS novel that still ranks number one in my heart is Ishmael by Barbara Hambly~

I am stupidly fond of the TOS books Kobayashi Maru and Killing Time. I want to do fanart for the latter. *facepalm* Ensign Kirk and Captain Spock are just so... so... endearing.

*makes note of these titles* I'm pretty sure I've read them, but it's been long enough since I did that I can't remember what they're about. Which means they're perfect for reading again~

Kobayashi Maru is actually kinda four short stories set in a framework of the characters telling those stories to each other (and McCoy) while they are trapped in a debris field with no engines. So you get to hear how Kirk cheated, what Chekov did (which Sulu thinks is hysterical), why Sulu did what he did, and how for Scotty that test was a set-up to better things. :3

Killing Time is a little trickier, just because there's more than one printed version! They initially published a version that didn't have the final edits! Which means it's slashier. ;D I have that first version. I'm looking for the reprint, for a number of reasons, but the version I do have is actually a damn good story. Romulan agents go back in the past and assassinate some key figures in Federation history, leading to a future where Spock is the Captain (of the VSS ShiKahr, I think it is), and Kirk is a drug-addict Ensign who was drafted into Fleet because it was that or Orion prison. McCoy is the same. :3

Another good one is The Three-Minute Universe. :D
