more due South fic recs
Jun. 4th, 2009 12:09 pmBecause I plowed through a lot of fic yesterday. Here are some I think deserve to be read more. ;3
A Ray By Any Other Name... Short, sweet, and to the point: what Ma Vecchio thinks of Kowalski.
The rest of these are Kowalski/Fraser, because that's how I roll.
Our Fair Share of Abuse About 10,500 words. There is a serial rapist on the loose in Chicago, and Ray has one day to solve the case, and Fraser can't help. (The crimes are not described in detail, but this might still be triggering for some. Use your own discretion.)
These last two are AUs -- because that's also how I roll -- of the Fraser-is-the-same, Kowalski-is-different variety. And by some strange coincidence, they both diverge at the end of first season.
Why You Left Paris About 1200 words. After Fraser was (canonically) shot, Ray Kowalski is his physiotherapist.
Guilty Until Proven Innocent About 13,200 words. "Private eye Ray Kowalski is attracted to Benton Fraser from the moment he sees him-- in the courtroom where Fraser is on trial for murder. Ray's convinced Fraser isn't the killer, but time is running out. Can he prove Fraser's innocence in time-- and prove to Fraser that he's in it for more than just the money and the headlines?" I love Ray in this one.
