GOOD NEWS! *steals computer time at work*
Dec. 14th, 2005 06:45 pmSo, yesterday we went to look at a 3 (!) bedroom apartment within our price range, utilities included, laundry on-site, yes to cats. It was sooooo pretty. The closets are funky shaped, the kitchen is not built for tall people, new doors, new carpets... I can't even describe this place. It was originally built as a co-op, and it is so... cute! And WAY closer to work and school. Hell, we could see Tai's usual site from the balconey. And it's right on the bus route that takes us straight to school! *wriggle* So. We filled out applications, and dropped them off, and today they called back and we were approved! We'll be signing the lease on Monday (which gives me time to replace my destroyed chequebooks ;_;) and we might be able to move in by Wednesday! Meanwhile, the tenancy board assures us that the landlord has to either put us up until our unit is fixed - which he is unwilling to do, since it wouldn't be until February at the soonest - or release us from our lease for a date we agree to, and reimburse us for the costs of moving and storage. As well as giving us back our security deposit. (After all, we didn't destroy the apartment, and even if there were damage - which there wasn't - you certainly can't tell now!)
I am so happy, but I'll be living on pins until the lease is signed, and then until we've moved in.
And while the damage to our futons wasn't covered under the warranty, the guys at The Futon Place are going to give us a discount on replacements. Might not be a big one, but hey. Might get a couch from my uncle - who's moving in January actually. We can turn our third room into a library. *starry-eyed*
