There's a TV at work.

It's an area where I'm supposed to be sure to be frequently seen. This morning I watched most of 2 hours of the Mospeada arc of Robotech (I got to see Yellow Dancer's concert! Yay!) and then most of the episode "No Exit" from the show Mutant X. Now, I watched maybe the first two episodes of Mutant X and stopped. I just couldn't get past John Shea (who played Lex Luthor in Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, which I really loved) as the Professor X stand in, and also the show was not as close to the X-Men comics as I had expected (it was supposed to be, but then 20th Century Fox sued Marvel -- yes, I have that the right way round -- because Marvel had given them the rights to make the X-Men movies and then started to make a show that was too similar). Anyway, "No Exit" is in the 3rd season and I really had no idea what's going on.

I don't like the girls. They're very slutty and sadistic. The boys, on the other hand, are sweaty and choking to death on nerve-killing gas when this conversation takes place:

Jesse: Brennan *gasp* there's something *gasp* I have to tell you --
Brennan: *pant* Yeah, I love you, too.
Jesse: No. You really suck at basketball. *gasp*
Brennan (incredulous): *pant* That's it? *wheeze* That's the big *pant* important that thing you had to tell me?!
Jesse (faintly): And what you said. *stops breathing*
Brennan: Jesse? JESSE! DON'T YOU DIE ON ME!

And then the girls flood the room with oxygen and just as Brennan's about to give Jesse mouth-to-mouth, Jesse revives and pushes his face away, sitting up and skittering away with a freaked out, "Don't you DARE give me mouth-to-mouth!"

At which point I went from "LOL awww" to "alllllrighty then".

I may look for fic. Someday. Or possibly write fic about someone watching or commenting on the episode....

^^ I used to watch that show, when I could. I didn't like the girls either! They were both like "we're sexy badasses" and it drove me crazy.
