Now when I say "ooh", you say "long"!
Ooh!
(Long!)
Ooh!
(Long!)
And when I say "herbal", you say "no thanks"!

Innit? :D I love Have a Cuppa Tea by The Kinks (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4eYtNu_heiI). I'm wondering if there's more tea-themed stuff out there? Maybe I could make a playlist!

I had forgotten about that song! XD

It seems like there's more songs about coffee.

Coffee, meh. *not a fan*

(Okay, I don't tend to drink tea under my own steam, either (although I'll happily drink it if it's offered) -- I'm more of a herbal person *is shunned* -- but coffee is made of piss. XD )

I have doctors' orders to stay away from coffee! *thumbs up* As well as tea, and caffeine in general. So I drink decaf herbals. XD But I used to drink tea and coffee by the litre.

Man, I'm so glad I never got addicted to caffeine. Watching addict friends try to function without it is entertaining as hell makes me glad my only addiction is to internet porn.

Luckily, I went through the worst of my caffeine withdrawal while I was hospitalized. It just merged with every other unpleasantness going on at the time. Worse than the addiction, though, was the habit. I was used to consuming caffeine under various circumstances, and I tell you it's a stone cold bitch at times to try to socialize when you don't drink caffeine, pop, or alcohol. (~don't drink, don't smoke - -what do you do? goody-good goody-good, goody-goody-two-shoes!)

I'm going to get all messed up by the fact that The Tea Party is one of my oft-listened to bands, and they don't sing about tea. XD They sing stuff like and it feels just like heaven's coming down / your soul takes wing as your conscience hits the ground and got a letter from a messenger / I read it when it came / it said that you were wounded / you were bound and chained / you were lovèd, you were handled / you were poisoned, you were pained / oh no, oh no / you were naked, you were shamed.

Clearly, someone needs to combine the two, and write porn involving bondage and tea.

'There is no escape from my bondage device of doom, Mister Bond! Now, I will force you to drink the cold, stale coffee! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! *sips tea*'

I've been randomly coming up with Mr. Bond scenarios for two days, and that still trumps all of them. XD

Also: The Tea Rap is alright, but somewhat derivative of the Smirnoff Iced Tea video-ad, and also: Tetley? Tch! Bad taste! Red Rose at least has class! 9_9

Also, that song/video is hee-larious. And I'm craving a bourbon biscuit now. Gargh.

Ooh, tea party, yay!

A bourbon biscuit (aka bourbon cream, aka bourbon) is comprised of two small rectangular chocolate biscuits stuck together with chocolate cream-y filling. The biscuits often have a smattering of sugar granules studding the surface, and have the word 'bourbon' stamped on them. Often some decorative teeny tiny circles, too. 'Bourbon' isn't a brand name...it's just what they are. They are always ever so slightly less chocolatey than you expect, no matter which company made them, which is disappointing, naturally.

Although the Tea-Rap mentions Battenburg cake several times, my inner cookie monster latched on to the mention of bourbons around 0:32 - 'I've had bourbons with sultans and creams with queens'. (I'm guessing the 'creams' referred to are custard creams...oooh, it's been ages since I had one of those, too. *Pines for uni days, when a nice cup of tea and a biscuit and a good sit were essential daily rituals with some of the housemates*)

I am edified! And also, I think I must have had a bourbon biscuit at least once, The description is vaguely familiar, and "always ever so slightly less chocolatey than you expect" definitely ring a bell.

You probaby have - bourbons pop up everywhere, especially in seeming boring biscuit boxes. They are still good, but each time you have a few, the first one is kind of disappoining, beacuse of the not-as-chocolately-as-you'd-expect-edness.
