Spiteful moment of the day:

It's nearing 11pm and I'm walking to my bus stop to go home. I'm in my guard uniform and I've got on my large, conspicuous headphones, listening to a soft ballad.

A gaggle of frosh coming down the sidewalk take this opportunity to make derisive comments about security guards. "Nurr hurr, I am a security guard and I [content deleted]"

My reaction? To think, "I should become a TA, so I can see them go pale when they see me give them a grin worthy of a red dragon as I gather up their exams for marking."

Nevermind that they obviously go to the rival U. It was spiteful.

To balance my karma, an act of unsolicited generosity for y'all: It's the cycle of life, baby.

They're lucky I choose to be a gentleman.

They are considering passing a bylaw that requires us to have batons and handcuffs. I say pay me more if you're gonna make me go armed. Although I can't wait to see how many of y stupid coworkers accidentally cuff themselves to desk or something.

That's one reason I only wear my uniform whilst on duty. Another reason, is if I get off around midnightish, I'd much rather not be in uniform while walking home in my neck of the woods. The problem with being issued a weapon, is that we would all need psych tests, to make sure we aren't too psychotically gung-ho. A test, I might add, I would likely fail. I've had my mag-lite in hand many times wanting very much to use it in a way other than its "intended" purpose...though to this day I have still refrained myself from using it against the stupids.
