Got the Captain America one-shot about the original Agent 13 and hated it. Peggy is awesome, but the people who put this together decided that instead of her just being flat out awesome like she was, they had to make Cap into an asshole and her all mad at him in order to build her up. This pissed me off because Cap's not an asshole -- he is especially not an uncontrollably violent and hormonal, unmindful jerk like in this book -- and also Peggy does not need building up, she was already totally awesome on her own!

Fans of Cap and Mademoiselle 13, I don't recommend this book.

It wasn't at the top of my buy list, since I'm having to save my money to buy sub-par and/or downright infuriating DC titles, but thanks for the heads up. I really don't need another comic pissing me off right now. -_-

If it helps, I really enjoyed the latest issue of Captain America and Bucky? There was a moment that made me tear up, and a moment that made me grin like an idiot while sort of tearing up.

I am much too bitter over Fear Itself to read anything involving Bucky without raging. It'll take several months, and/or Marvel proving correct the theory that he's not actually dead, before I can.

I actually find filling in these stories from his early days as something of a balm in that respect, but I can definitely see your point. Still, maybe keep it in mind for when/if the fury subsides?

Will do. I have to eventually, since Ed Brubaker is one of only two active writers that I trust to tell proper stories right now. It's become a very short list in the past few years. With Matt Fraction and Gail Simone being suspended until further notice as of Fear Itself and the DCnU, that leaves Ed Brubaker and Peter David.

Well, that's... disappointing. I had been eying the book at the comic book store for a bit, but hadn't flipped through it at all. Now I know to ignore it like burning. Humph.

Who wrote it, so I know who to avoid?

(Maybe our Cap and Ultimate Cap switched places? Because, as we all know, Ultimate Cap is a grade-A Asshat. I think he may have a degree in Rectal Haberdashery, even.)

Here. I shall include a picture of a nice motorcycle to cheer you up.

There may be some sort of Steve attached to said motorcycle.

Written by Kathryn Immonen.

They did stick a reprint of the Lee/Kirby story revealing "the never-before-told saga of -- THE GIRL FROM CAP'S PAST!" which is bsaically the tale of the last time they saw each other before he got froze, but as I already have it, it's not enough to redeem the book. (Especially as they contradict eaxch other. >_> )

Rectal Haberdashery

BWAHAHAHA!

That is a nice bike. Steve looks like he's trying to figure out if he has the same affinity for it as he's had with other bikes.

Well, Methos was around during WWII. He wasn't killing Nazis in Russia like MacLeod was -- I'm pretty sure he was a doctor again at the time, like he was during the American Civil War -- but I am just saying that a Highlander-verse/Captain America crossover is possible. ;3

Steve: I'm all alone in the future. Everyone I knew is dead. There's no one left I--

Methos: Doot dee doo--

Steve: Wait.

Methos: Uh.

Steve: I know you.

Methos: No you don't.

Steve: Yeah, I do. B|

Methos: ...*flee*

Steve: *Super Soldier tackle* :D

Methos would be extremely put out. Normally he has a buzz in his head to warn him when he runs a chance of running into someone from his past (where "his past" means "a previous life").

Steve: *follows Methos home*

Methos: *leads him right to MacLeod, because misery loves company*

MacLeod: Steve!

Steve: Duncan!

Methos: *drops his head into his hands while thye have a back-pounding hug reunion*
