Hank had been acting pretty weird and obsessive in the weeks before the replacement, so Dark Beast's mistakes were taken as Hank going off the rails from overwork...
and there is some evidence that Hank is going to age *very* slowly. Even with the 20-year age difference, it might not have been noticeable with clues like fine wrinkles hidden under fur.
