X-Men fanfic: "Helpful Revelation"
This is a little drabble set before M-Day, some short time after the wedding kerfuffle, and written primarily because I like to think Alex gained some wisdom from his time in the Mutant X universe.
Alex's leadership style was similar to Heather's in that it involved a lot of hands-on meddling in the lives of those under his aegis. Sometimes, that made Jean-Paul feel more comfortable with occasionally being attached to his squad of the X-Men.
This was not one of those time.
"Tell me again why you haven't just asked him out?" Alex asked, staring in forehead-crinkling confusion.
"Because," Jean-Paul sighed impatiently, "I am not a fan of being rejected, and all evidence points to him being straight."
"Um. Except for the part where he's dated men." Alex raised his eyebrows at Jean-Paul's surprised expression. "I'm pretty sure he's bisexual, and I think you've got a shot with him." He sipped his beer, then added, "Mostly because I've seen him checking out your ass."
