Vorkosigan saga ficlet: "The Apology" (feat. Kou & Aral)

Title: The Apology
Characters: Kou (Clement Koudelka, here a lieutenant and Vorkosigan's secretary) and Aral Vorkosigan (here the Imperial Regent, a retired admiral, and a Count's Heir). Both of Aral's wives mentioned.
Summary: Missing scene from Barrayar (aka the second half of Cordelia's Honor); Aral apologizes to Kou for his reaction in the library.
Author's Notes: Aral typically makes his actions serve more than one purpose, and this is no exception... not that Kou notices it here. Also, I wanted to call it The Library Incident, but that applies to so many things, and in this particular book really should be the night of the assassination attempt.

I don't recommend reading this if you haven't read the book. )

Only love can build us a bridge of light

Okay, mentally choreographing a zero-gravity dance performance to the song Bridge of Light by Pink, by the Minchenko Freefall Ballet Troop, who are a) fictional, and b) quaddies (i.e. genetically engineered to have a set of arms where standard humans have legs).

I could never describe this, I suspect. But it's beautiful to imagine.

art in the Vorkosigan GURPS book

I was expecting Simon Illyan to look a bit like Illya Kuryakin, and he does.

I was taken by surprise when Duv Galeni looked like Kerr Avon and Elena Bothari-Jesek looked like Servalan. X3 LAughing like a loon at my desk is a go!

(Elli Quinn also looks familiar but I can't put my finger on it...)

Two fictional characters I wouldn't want to see meet:

Kris Longknife and Miles Naismith Vorkosigan.

Don't get me wrong, it would be EPIC. And they have so much in common! Which is, of course, part of the problem.

Entertaining as hell on their own, though.
