So the fic I've been developing for my HLSS recipient has been a good reflection of my thematic approach to the holidays this year: fun, upbeat, maybe a little silly, but with a lot of heart. I was inspired by a conversation in an unrelated discord reacting to a movie trailer and how it could be done better than the story they seem to be presenting.

But then today my cat was put to sleep. She got terminally sick really rapidly, I had about 17 hours to cuddle and spoil her while she was on painkillers, and now she's gone.

I am still going to write for HLSS, but I have a strong feeling it won't be the same lighthearted story I had in the works.

I’m so sorry about the loss of your cat. I had to say goodbye to one over the summer, so I know how difficult that is, especially right now.

I have three days off this week, so I plan to spend some of that staring at the request and free associating.
