getting with it

Yay I figured out how to get the comment page working on my account! (And by "I figured out" I mean "I submitted a "please help me!" to LJ Support on the topic".) All I had to do was toggle my setting for "Disable customized commenting?" from "No" to "Yes"

(Which of course means that those of you unhappy with the new look can reverse-engineer that.)

They DO plan on removing that. I was just reading about why people are so upset, and it seems to be less about the changes, but rather LJ's lack of giving a shit about what people think of it. See http://factionary.livejournal.com/2116.html

Why should LJ give a shit, is the thing. Online or offline, things upgrade and people either adapt or leave -- that's how things work. Fuck the whiners, says I, and bring on an LJ interface that isn't years behind the times. My friend [livejournal.com profile] piyomon has a damn good post on the subject here.

Yeh, I don't follow the whole "we can't rp because there aren't any subject headers BAAAAAWWWW" and I rp'ed on LJ for ages.
