This has happened to me, actually. In juniour high school, my English teacher published one of my poems as his own. Considering a) all my friends knew I'd written it, b) so did my family, and c) it had already been published under my name, he got in biiiiiig trouble.

Although I'm pretty sure he didn't lose his job. Somehow.

He should have been fired. That sort of dishonesty is not something that should ever be tolerated in an educator.

He claimed that the publication was the one who got it wrong, putting his name on it because he submitted it (and I think possibly submitted it sans name). In which case: still in trouble! Because he never asked and I never said yes!

I mean, seriously now.
