Well, Carson in honour of Carson, on the one hand. The other is just a theory I have about Athosian naming conventions. Teyla Emmagen is the daughter of Teygen. I'm thinking there's some patromymics at work here, I guess. We have no idea what her mother's name might have been, so it's hard to form more of a theory.
I keep forgetting who knows the spoilers and who doesn't. Don't mind me :)
And I like the patromymics explanation. I've always been interested in the Athosian culture and customs, though we don't get nearly enough of it on the show.
Hey, I keep forgetting too. I accidentally spoiled my parents about "Sunday" around New Year's. OOPS.
It's one of the issues with them not having an Anthropologist on the team. Not that I would trade McKay for anything, he's my absolute favourite part of the show, but still. It's an issue.
Then again, I'm an anthropologist, so if they did it wrong? I might have a hissy. I really haven't seen enough SG-1 to know what their track record with that is like.
