Messing with the cat is so easy

I came home from work chewing a piece of gum, because it helps me not to throw up. (Go figure. Also: I'm sick -- there's something going around, and it started when the flu shots did. Coincidence?)

So, I'm chewing gum, and Soci jumps up on my lap and sticks his ear in my mouth. Shockingly, this did not result in gum stuck to cat, mostly because the gum was on the opposite side of my mouth. So I playfully fake-gnaw on his ear (which he loves), and then jerk my head away and chew my gum obnoxiously loud.

He jumps off my lap, and I tell him, "I bit off part of your ear."

He gave me an incredibly astonished look, then eeled past my legs to leave -- and I reached down and pinched the ear in question.

"I put it back," I told him, and stroked his ears to show they were the same.

Cue composure grooming. XD
